Biocoke production plant, 40,000 t/y – Caribbean Region, Colombia

Status: Ongoing pre-feasibility study 2026

More. Rebalance75 is in an advanced pre-feasibility stage for the development of a biocoke production plant with a projected capacity of 40,000 tons per year in the Caribbean region of Colombia. This strategic asset is designed to produce high-efficiency biocarbon as a direct substitute for pulverized coal and as a reducing agent in heavy metallurgical and steel industries. To ensure sustainability and scalability, the project utilizes woody biomass and is currently in key negotiations for a multi-year offtake agreement with European partners. With this project, Rebalance75 reinforces its leadership in industrial decarbonization by driving high-value circular economy processes in the Caribbean region.

Industrial wood pellet plant, 150,000 t/y – Magdalena, Colombia

Status: Sold and delivered in May 2025

Learn more. We financed, constructed, and commissioned an industrial-grade (i2) wood pellet production plant with a nominal capacity of 150,000 tons per year in the lower Magdalena River basin, Colombia. The project integrated cutting-edge technology, such as high-efficiency rotary dryers and robust compaction presses, to densify biomass. This project was delivered with a fully secured operational and commercial cycle, including the execution of all necessary contracts and the signing of a multi-year offtake agreement with a reputable European partner for the export of total production. With strategic logistical access to the port of Barranquilla, the plant transforms woody biomass into low-impact renewable fuel. The project was acquired by a Private Equity fund and was delivered ,fully commissioned in June 2025.

Wood pellet plant, 100,000 t/y – Biobío, Chile

Status: Completed in May 2019

Learn more. This project involved the commercial and financial development of a wood pellet production plant in Chile, with a design capacity of 100,000 tons per year for both, industrial and residential use. The plant utilizes sawmill waste and other industrial residues from the forestry sector as raw material. The project was completed in 2019.

Associated gas power generation plant, 32 MW – Casanare, Colombia


Status: Sold and delivered in May 2022

Learn more. The project encompassed the development, operation, and financing of two 32 MW power generation centers using gas associated with crude oil production. Associated gas is gas trapped in oil wells due to the lack of traditional pipelines or virtual pipelines. The development included the negotiation of PPAs, the design of the generation centers, and the construction of over 30 km of medium and high-voltage power lines to serve one of Colombia's main oil projects. The project was operated for a number of years and was handed over to new management in 2022.

⁠Biogas cogeneration plant, 2 MWe – Cundinamarca, Colombia

Status: Sold and delivered in 2023

Learn more. Este proyecto incluyó el diseño, implementación, financiación y operación de una planta de cogeneración de 2 MWe. Fue construida y operada para la empresa de lácteos más grande de Colombia y la región Andina. El desarrollo incluyó la negociación de un contrato de offtake de energía eléctrica y térmica por doce años, así como la construcción de una planta de tratamiento de biogás, motogeneradores, una caldera de recuperación de calor, una membrana gasométrica y equipos de conexión a la red eléctrica. El proyecto reduce la huella de carbono del cliente al transformar residuos orgánicos en energía, disminuyendo la dependencia de la red eléctrica y de combustibles fósiles para la generación térmica. El proyecto fue entregado a un nuevo operador en 2023.

Forest biomass power plant, 22 MW – Biobío, Chile

Status: Sold and delivered in May 2018

Learn more. The company led the comprehensive development of a 22 MW power generation plant in Chile using forest biomass as fuel. The scope included plant engineering, boiler and turbo-generator systems, biomass logistics and supply, site selection, environmental permitting, grid connection, and obtaining the social license to operate. The biomass supply was structured primarily using waste and harvest residues from forest plantations. This project was operated for a while and handed over to the new owners in 2018.

Agro-industrial rose complex, 20 hectares – Cundinamarca, Colombia


Status: Sold and delivered in June 2020

Learn more. This project consisted of the development, implementation, operation, and financing of an agro-industrial complex for the production and commercialization of high-quality cut roses. The project covered two cultivation centers on 20 hectares under greenhouses, utilizing precise drip irrigation systems and state-of-the-art remote monitoring to manage water and the environment, supported by a staff of 260 employees. Additionally, the project included climate-controlled post-harvest areas and digital traceability to improve efficiency. Its strategic location near the international airport facilitated efficient exports to over 30 countries through proprietary marketing companies in Miami, New York, and Bogotá until the project was sold in 2020.
