Biocoal
We develop production facilities for biogenic carbon materials. We specialize in biocoal or metallurgical biochar, a drop-in substitute for coke in the production of low-emission metals, also known as Green Metals.
These technologies transform organic waste into stable carbon that is used as an industrial input to replace fossil fuels, contributing significantly to the capture and net reduction of CO₂.
We transform biomass into metallurgical reductants, critical inputs for obtaining low carbon footprint metals, such as green iron and steel.

High-temperature pyrolysis is the technological heart of the production process. It is the chemical decomposition of biomass using heat in the absence of oxygen. Without oxygen, the wood does not burn (combustion), but rather its molecules are broken down and reorganized into more valuable products.
The heart of the process is a reactor, which acts as a high-precision thermochemical transformation chamber. Unlike a furnace, the reactor controls every variable to ensure that the wood is transformed into a homogeneous industrial input.

In the transition to a green metals economy, our biocoal is positioned as the strategic alternative for the global steel industry. Designed for seamless integration into existing processes, our product offers a direct path to climate neutrality.

How does it work?
The production of biocoal, or metallurgical biochar, is carried out through pyrolysis, a thermal process in which biomass is decomposed at very high temperatures in the absence of oxygen. We use closed and controlled reactors that transform organic waste into stable carbon, also generating energy byproducts. This technology is clean, efficient, and adaptable to different types of raw materials and applications.
